*Golfer | Treatment: virtual Roll Model Therapy Balls session via Zoom, 2020*
. TESTIMONIAL
"Over the past couple of years I have had numerous massage treatments with Susannah to address persistent lower back issues. As a keen golfer I want to try to manage my condition as best as possible. However, during the pandemic, social distancing made hands-on treatment impossible.
As a regular at Susannah's Body Mind Unwind yoga classes, she recommended a virtual treatment session using the Roll Model Therapy Balls that are used in her yoga classes.
I can honestly say that after the session my hip and lower back pain eased significantly and I was moving much more freely. Susannah and I connected through Zoom and she demonstrated where and how to use the therapy balls, and the techniques to get the best results.
For anyone who is suffering and feels they need treatment during a period when hands-on isn't possible, I would highly recommend contacting Susannah. It has made a big difference to me."

## 4. TEACHER'S NOTE
Andrew has been coming to me for years and continues to attend weekly classes and hands-on treatment sessions — so this virtual session during lockdown was a bridge, not a replacement, in an ongoing therapeutic relationship. That context matters: Andrew already had body awareness and familiarity with the therapy balls from his yoga classes, which meant we could use the Zoom session really effectively.
What Andrew's experience illustrates is something I've seen consistently — that guided self-treatment with the Roll Model Therapy Balls can produce genuine, meaningful results even without hands-on contact. The balls allow a level of specificity and sustained pressure that you simply can't replicate with a foam roller, and when applied to the hip flexors, gluteal muscles and the soft tissue around the lower back, they can create significant release in the structures that contribute to persistent lower back pain.
For golfers specifically, the lower back, hips and thoracic rotation are perennial problem areas. The rotational demands of the golf swing — repeated hundreds of times in a round and in practice — place cumulative load on tissue that needs regular maintenance to stay mobile and pain-free. Andrew's commitment to managing his condition proactively, both through regular treatment and weekly classes, is exactly the kind of approach that keeps people playing the sports they love for longer.
The virtual format has remained part of my practice beyond lockdown. For clients who can't always get to Newark, or who want to build an independent self-care routine they can use at home, online sessions are a genuinely effective option.
